About the Music Den

Located in the Transmedia Zone, The Music Den is a free incubation program that provides guidance and support to entrepreneurs and innovators focused on the music industry.

We offer community, resources, business advice and mentorship to budding entrepreneurs, technologists and service providers who are passionate about creating innovative tools and services for the music industry.

Our program helps you design a sustainable long term strategy while giving you access to resources to scale your business, including coworking space, equipment, studios, editing suites, and more.

To help with your long term vision, we’ve gathered a group of veteran industry leaders to guide and mentor you. The Steering Committee includes:

Membership to the Music Den is free, but acceptance is competitive and limited. Members of the Music Den receive the following benefits:

  • Guidance, connections and mentorship from Music Den staff and Steering Committee members, helping you to grow your ideas, business or technology to their fullest potential
  • Access to workspace and boardrooms for meetings
  • Access to audio and video facilities, and editing suites and equipment
  • Membership in a growing community of inspired innovators who want to contribute to a shared vision for the future of the music industry.

Apply to join the Music Den

Anyone is eligible to apply to join the Music Den. If your online application meets our criteria, you’ll be invited to pitch your project to the Steering Committee. The Steering Committee selects who is accepted into the Music Den, and is looking for individuals, teams, and/or businesses who want to positively change the way the music industry operates — for artists, audiences and organizations.

The Music Den is looking for projects that exhibit the following criteria:

  • Focused on solving a real issue (creative, economic or social) in the music industry
  • Have an innovative approach to a component part of the music business, e.g. content creation, content management, audience engagement, publishing, distribution.
  • Ideally have a working prototype of their solution (at a minimum) that is ready-to-launch or nearly so.
  • Be able to demonstrate some evidence of unmet need in the market or marketability of their solution.
  • Have the potential to grow and scale their company to achieve high impact.
  • Have a “lean canvas” business model and an effective pitch deck
  • Have a leadership team comprised of driven, coachable and collaborative people with some expertise in the area of focus
